Semester 3
Introduction
Structural Mechanics is the study of material behavior under loads. The purpose of structural mechanics analysis is often to verify the integrity of a structure, so it is necessary to have failure criteria.
The four kinds of forces that affect the structure of a building are Compression, Tension, Shear and Torsion .In this diagram two forces acting on the center of the beam they are compression and tension , column is undergoing with compression force .The objective of this module is to perform structural analysis and forces diagram of a G+ 2 reinforced cement concrete frame structure (RCC).

Learnings from the module
From this module we learn that what are the different types of forces that acts on building structure and the study of force distribution among the various load-carrying members. This module helped us to understand the different building structural frame and overall average span between columns.
