INSECT STUDY

In this module we were suppose to choose an insect and make some drawings on them by observing there movments.

My insect was 'HONEY BEE'

In the above drawings i have shown the movements in honey bee that they perform while communicating with each other about food source ( nectar).Honey bee perform two types of dance while communicating,1) Round dance,2) Waggle dance.

Round dance- The round dance is performed by the forager bee when the food source is located in the immediate vicinity of the hive.It is used for food source 25-100 meters away from the hive or closer.

Waggle dance-The waggle dance is for food sources greater than a couple of hundred meters.The scout waggles her body from side to side running in a semicircle restarting her dance where she began from.
